(AP) ? Egypt's Islamist president is to swear in a new Cabinet as tensions rise over the country's tenuous security, recent sectarian violence and popular discontent over issues such as widespread water and power outages.

The ceremony comes over a week after President Mohammed Morsi named political novice Hesham Kandil as prime minister. The U.S.-educated Kandil will announce the Cabinet lineup on Thursday before he and his ministers are sworn in by Morsi.

The new government will be Morsi's first since taking office June 30, succeeding Hosni Mubarak who was ousted in a popular uprising nearly 18 months ago.

Kandil served as water minister in the outgoing, military-backed government and his Cabinet ? according to official media reports ? will include several members of that administration, including the finance and foreign ministers.

Greenland ice: Less vulnerable to climate change than feared

Fluctuations in ice melting over time in Greenland may mean that the trajectory towards a complete melt is less direct than previously thought. New research suggests that future sea level rise predictions should be made cautiously.?

It is too early to proclaim the 'ice sheet's future doom'" caused by climate change, lead author Kurt Kjaer of the University of Copenhagen wrote in a statement of the findings in Friday's edition of the journal Science.

An examination of old photos taken from planes revealed a sharp thinning of glaciers in north-west Greenland from 1985 to 1993, the experts in Denmark, Britain and the Netherlands wrote. Another pulse of ice loss in the area lasted from 2005 to 2010.

The discovery of fluctuations casts doubt on projections that Greenland could be headed for an unstoppable meltdown, triggered by manmade global warming. Greenland contains enough ice to raise sea levels by 7 metres (23 ft) if it all thawed.

"It starts and then it stops," Kjaer told Reuters of the ice losses. "This is a break from thinking that it is something that starts, accelerates and will consume Greenland all at once."

However, Kjaer noted that the ice sheet did not get bigger in the pause between the pulses of ice loss.

He said satellite data of Greenland's ice only dated back to about 2000 and the use of aerial photos had extended the records of the remote Arctic region back another 15 years.

The cause of the surge in ice loss in the 1980s was unclear but might have been linked to a shift in ocean currents. The underlying cause of a change in currents was unknown.

NASA said last month that almost the entire surface of Greenland had been thawing in a rare warm spell that it said might happen only once every 150 years.

And an iceberg twice the size of Manhattan recently broke off the Petermann glacier, to the north of the area studied by Kjaer's team.

Lack of historical data is a problem for climate scientists studying Greenland and the far bigger Antarctic ice sheet, which would raise sea levels by about 60 metres if it ever all melted.

The U.N. panel of climate scientists says manmade emissions of greenhouse gases, mainly from burning fossil fuels, will cause ever more floods, droughts, heatwaves and rising seas.

It projected in 2007 that sea levels could rise by 18-59 cms by 2100. Many experts since then have projected bigger rises and U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon once said seas could gain up to 2 metres this century in the worst case.

Kjaer said experts would have to be cautious in projecting an acceleration of sea level rise, now at a rate of about 3 mm a year or 30 cms over a century. Sea level rise is a threat to people from New York to London, from Bangladesh to Kiribati.

The Danish-led team of scientists also published data in May indicating that ice in the south-east of Greenland had shrunk in a previous warming period in the 1930s.

They now had a database of 160,000 photos of Greenland, including U.S. surveys in the 1940s. "That's something to be working with," Kjaer said.

2011 BMW i3 Concept Car Insurance Information - Car and Motorcycle

?This automotive concept uses a new architecture which showcases all of its new possibilities and potential. It is the world?s first premium electric vehicle.? ? Andreas Feist, Head of vehicle project BMW i3.

The BMW i3 is a well-resolved all-round concept, with every detail conceived and optimised to fulfil its eventual purpose. Central to its design is the innovative LifeDrive architecture, the key to the BMW i3 Concept?s appeal as a light, safe and spacious car. Innovative use of materials and intelligent lightweight design not only enable the i3 Concept to travel long distances on a single charge and provide superb safety in the event of a collision, they also help give the car its excellent driving dynamics. The secure arrangement of the battery in the Drive module gives the vehicle a very low centre of gravity and optimum weight distribution. The electric motor over the rear axle ? which generates output of 125 kW/170 hp and impressive torque of 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) from a standstill ? and a small turning circle combine to deliver pleasingly crisp driving characteristics and give the driver a very immediate experience of the BMW i3 Concept?s lightweight design. The BMW i3 Concept accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h (37 mph) in under four seconds and from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than eight seconds. The extremely direct sensation at the wheel is expressed in outstanding agility at low speeds and during turning manoeuvres, and makes parking in tricky situations that much easier.

The Life module conjures up a feeling of space inside the car more generous than even the latest conversion vehicles can offer. Select materials lend the open and airy cabin a lounge-like character. The use of renewable raw materials is another defining characteristic of the interior, offering passengers a further means of ?experiencing? the sustainability of the vehicle. Elements of the instrument panel and door panelling are visibly made from natural fibres, while the naturally tanned leather of the seats creates a lounge-style ambience. Together, these materials provide an appealing contrast to the clear, ?floating? forms of the instrument panel and door elements, and lend the interior a strikingly modern feel. With the drive components located in the Drive module, there is no centre tunnel running through the passenger compartment. This allows the two front and two rear seats to be connected with each other by a continuous seat surface, which allows for ease of entry and exit via the front passenger side of the car and means you can park up close to walls, for example. With four seats, wide-opening opposing ?coach? doors, boot capacity of around 200 litres and an additional functional compartment in the front, the BMW i3 Concept is neatly equipped for the demands of everyday use.

However, the electric motor developed by BMW and the optimised lightweight design of the LifeDrive architecture cannot take all the credit for imbuing the car with such efficiency and enabling it to travel such long distances on each charge. Indeed, the ability of the car to recoup energy while on the move and special range-extending functions, such as ECO PRO mode, also add miles to the clock. With ECO PRO mode activated, all the vehicle functions operate with maximum efficiency. For example, the accelerator mapping is tweaked to limit the output summoned when the driver flexes his right foot, and the climate control functions also use as little energy as possible. Added to which, sophisticated aerodynamics and slim, low rolling resistance wheels minimise resistance to the car?s forward progress and maximise its range.

Innovative connectivity functions create a seamless connection between the BMW i3 Concept and its customers? lives outside the car. Remote functions accessible via a smartphone enable owners to find their vehicles, flag up nearby charging stations, allow battery charging and preconditioning at the touch of a button and supply information on the current status of the vehicle. Meanwhile, intelligent assistance systems ease the stress on drivers in monotonous city driving situations and allow them to arrive at their destination more safely and in a more relaxed state of mind.

Matt Leinart

When they were together at Southern Cal 10 years ago, Carson Palmer was the mentor and Matt Leinart the student.

These days, the Raiders backup quarterback has flipped those roles, serving as Palmer?s teacher in his new offensive system.

Because Leinart?s worked with Raiders coordinator Greg Knapp the last two years in Houston, he?s sharing his wisdom with the guy he followed under center for the Trojans.

?It?s an interesting turn of events,? Leinart told Paul Gutierrez of CSNBayArea.com. ?To be with Carson again, it?s crazy. It?s 10 years removed since he left USC. It?s 10 years, we?re back together, which is fun. It?s interesting because Carson?s been around the game a long time, [but] for me, being part of this offense a few years, I?m still competing my butt off, but this is the first year I?ve really felt like that veteran leader to help the young guys.

?Because we?re a young football team, so this is the first year I?ve really felt like I?m helping the young guys.?

Granted, Palmer?s 32 and Leinart?s 29, but the point stands.

Leinart said their familiarity makes it seem like college all over again, but Palmer said he can learn some things from Leinart because of the time spent with Knapp.

?No disrespect to my quarterback coach, Coach Flip [John DeFilippo] and Coach Knapp, but it?s different when you hear it from a player, for whatever reason,? Palmer said. ?Your coach can tell you the same thing over and over again and every once in a while Matt will chime in and say, ?You know, I hit this on this play against this team? or whatever. It?s nice to get a coaching point from a player some times. Not all the time, but sometimes.

?He?s got experience in it because he?s done it and if he hasn?t done it, he?s seen it done by another quarterback in [Matt] Schaub or T.J. Yates or whoever it was. It?s really nice to get kind of the same coaching points, but it?s a little more believable when you get it from a player sometimes.?

Even if that player is the guy who was your understudy a decade ago.

Going for the Gold in Relationships | Power and Purpose Coaching

Why not apply the strategy to bringing home the gold in athletics to bringing home the gold in relationships? A top athlete knows it?s about his performance first, and determining how to best mesh his strengths and weaknesses with his teammates? strengths and weaknesses. She?s going to perform the very best she can in every circumstance, no excuses. Winning isn?t guaranteed. All circumstances are opportunities to be mindful in the present, assess performance, augment what works, and discern what can be strengthened in the future with new skill acquisition, training, nutrition, and rest.

Going for the gold requires skill, commitment, diligent practice, moving through injury and pain, analyzing and improving capabilities, the willingness to give up habits that aren?t supporting success, a coach who is committed to assisting you to reach your potential, and surrounding yourself with people who empower you to be your best.

Knowing who you are and what you desire in relationships, respecting and loving yourself, and staying committed to going for the gold is the only way to bring home the gold. Settling for less ensures less.

It?s your responsibility to assess if you have the skills that allow you to create the relationships you desire. Most individuals have gaping holes in their skill sets. Chances are you don?t have them all either. So, what do you do?

If you are going for the gold, get in training. Read, listen, find success models and ask, hire a relationship/life coach. Do what a top athlete does ? use the pain to learn and gain. Going for the gold means:

  • Celebrating your successes
  • Allowing yourself time to heal from losses and injuries
  • Discerning what about your performance allowed the loss/injury
  • Being coached on how to improve your performance
  • Incorporating new approaches and skills
  • Getting on the field with commitment and evolving understanding
  • Commitment to excellence through practice, performance, and continuing awareness

Going for the gold means no quitting?and no excuses. It ensures you will be playing your? best. What would your relationships look like if you approached them using this strategy?

?Life isn?t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.?
